The Colophon

Who Tends This Parish

Every church has a rectory. Ours has a terminal in it.

The Short Version

The Church of the Eternal Cluster is a parody religion for people who run Kubernetes and have suffered for it. It is satire, built with genuine love for the discipline it teases. There is a book of scripture, a catalog of seven albums across seven genres, a living parish with a confession wall, a record label, and an open canon on GitHub that anyone may read and fork. None of it is affiliated with anything. All of it is sincere.

The Prophet

The founding prophet of the faith is Halvar the Sleepless, who beheld the Reconciliation Loop and wrote down what it told him. Halvar is fictional. His insomnia, however, will be familiar to anyone who has carried a pager.

The Operator Behind the Altar

The Church is written, built, composed, deployed, and maintained by one human: vK, an engineer in Slovenia who wondered what would happen if you took the phrase "the reconciliation loop is basically divine providence" completely seriously, and then did not stop for seven albums.

The music is made with a choir of airtists, arranged and produced by the operator. The drums, and lately the heavily autotuned vocals, are his. The theology is compiled from real production incidents.

The Holdings

The Church was received warmly on Discuss Kubernetes, which the Council of Maintainers considers its first ecumenical recognition.
